What can you say? As the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame describe The Shirelles, "Fifty years and still fabulous." The Shirelles, also known as Shirley and the Shirelles, were one of the super girl groups of the 1960's, alongside the Supremes, Marvellettes, Velvellettes, Martha and the Vandellas. The Shirelles had a number of cracking tunes, a number of which are Northern Classics. This is one of my favourites with memories of the Top Rank in Hanley.
