Amartya Sen Slams European Austerity

In an interview on CNBC, Nobel prize winning economist Amartya Sen has joined other leading economists in attacking the austerity programmes being introduced in Europe by right-wing Governments like the Liberal-Tories in Britain. Meanwhile, data out of the UK showed that manufacturing industry grew at the fastest rate since 1994 in May. At the same time, a series of surveys shows expectations of businesses deteriorating rapidly. So, if the economy tanks, the responsibility will clearly fall with the economically illiterate actions of the Liberal-Tories.
