Zionist Hypocrisy

The vicious attack and murder of Jewish worshippers at a synagogue in Manchester, was a deplorable act of anti-Semitism.  It was an attack by a jihadist against Jewish people, simply because they are Jewish.  They have no responsibility or connection to the actions of the Zionist state in Israel, and its genocide against Palestinians.  For all the attacker might have known, those worshippers he killed, like many other Jews, in Britain, may have been opponents of the Zionist regime, and the genocide it is undertaking.  Thousands of British jews, just like tens of thousands of Jews across the globe, regularly join in the marches and protests against the Zionist regime, and its genocide.  The jihadist was not striking a blow against Zionism, but simply expressing their own vile, anti-Semitic hatred of Jews for being Jews.  Dress that up, however, they might, the anti-Semites cannot equate Judaism with Zionism, cannot hold Jews, as Jews responsible for the vile actions of the Zionist state.

But, of course, the Zionists, including all of those that have defended the actions of the Zionist state, do exactly the same thing, as this anti-Semitic terrorist.  They do try to equate Judaism with Zionism, and so equate anti-Zionism with anti-Semitism.  In doing so, they actively promote anti-Semitism, by actively promoting the same logic of this anti-Semitic jihadist, who also equates Judaism with Zionism, and so, justifies their own hatred of Jews as Jews, by holding every Jew in the world responsible for the crimes of the Zionist state.  Repeatedly, protests against the Zionist state, and its genocide have been described by the Zionists, and by those western states and politicians as "anti-Semitic", thereby, equating Judaism and Zionism, where no such equation exists.  It was simply a lazy and opportunist way of trying to shut down criticism and protest against the actions of the Zionist state, as an ally of western imperialism.

Remember, of course, that bourgeois liberals have frequently claimed that democracies do not start wars, or carry out such genocides, whilst they have continually claimed that the Zionist regime in Israel is such a democracy.  The claim that democracies do not start wars and so on was a crock to begin with, and the whole history of colonialism is one of oppression and violence that was undertaken by such democracies.  But, even were it true, its proponents would have to either abandon the claim in respect of the actions of the Zionist regime, or else, conclude that Israel is not a democracy.

In the Sky News Press Preview, last night, Adam Boulton, commenting on the attack, made precisely the point that thee is no connection between being a British Jew, and the actions of the Zionist state, and so the killing of British Jews, is just an act of anti-Semitism.  Quite right.  But, later, he, then, argued that the pro-Palestine demonstrations, opposing the genocide by the Zionist state, should have been called off!  In other words, having argued, correctly, that there is no connection between being a British Jew, and the actions of the Zionist state, he, then, almost immediately makes that very connection, to argue that demonstrations against the actions of the Zionist state should be called off.

Why would that, in any logical sense, follow, given that, as he said to begin with, there is no connection between British Jews, and the vile actions of the Zionist state, and the genocide it is undertaking against Palestinians?  This is the debilitating effect that the equation of anti-Zionism with anti-Semitism has on any rational discourse, and flows from the flawed IHRA definition of anti-Semitism, which does make that connection.  The actions of the British government are predictably hypocritical in demanding that the protests against genocide in Gaza be called off.  For the racists of the Blue Labour government the murder of thousands of Palestinians week after week by the Zionist state, pale into insignificance compared to the murder of two British Jews, by a jihadist.
